fyaman Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 I have been using the 3 free bids and yesterday bid up to $125 for 4* Montreal Old Qtr for 5/30-6/2. Do I need to split the days or just need to bid higher? I also tried DT Montreal up to $110 and no luck.Thank you very much for your help!
thereuare Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 Do I need to split the days or just need to bid higher? You could do either, but if budget is a factor i do think you can do better by SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID.If you'd like help with a specific strategy let us know how high you're willing to bid for each zone OR if your goal is the least expensive in either zone and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 Can you please advise me on the least expensive in either Downtown or Old Montreal. The least expensive based upon one hotel for the entire trip OR are you willing to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID?Also, so we don't suggest a strategy which goes higher then you're willing to pay, what is your maximum bid? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. fyaman Posted May 23, 2011 Author Report Posted May 23, 2011 Sorry for not being clear...I would like the least expensive based upon one hotel for the entire trip in DT or Old Montreal. My maximum is $125.Thank you
thereuare Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 Give your previous rejection in one of these zones at $125, and a rejection in the other at $110, i'd say your chances of succeeding are somewhat low given there is not much of a window between what you have already bid and your current budget, you're basically betting on a rate drop between now and the time of your previous bids. To give it a shot...At the 4* level you have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Downtown...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Convention Center...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Downtown adn Convention Center...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. fyaman Posted May 24, 2011 Author Report Posted May 24, 2011 I kept getting rejected so I decided to split the dates to 5/30-6/1 and 6/1-6/2 since my searches showed a higher rate for 6/1. I was able to get Le Centre Sheraton for $94/day + $21tax for the first two days. Now I need to bid for 6/1. I guess I'll have to bid higher. Will let you know how it goes. Any advise? I searched google for any events that would make the hotels so full on 6/1 but nothing showed up. I think I started my bidding from your PRICELINE link but when I did a new bid, I logged off and started over. Hope I did it correctly and thank you for your help.
