ninjai Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 First time bidder. I've been aiming $130 per night 3*-4* in NYC, for my parents are coming to visit. Could anyone give me any suggestions or advice? Many thanks!
thereuare Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! It's unclear whether you've already tried bidding at those amounts of if that's what you're hoping for (or both :) ). ninjai Posted May 14, 2005 Author Report Posted May 14, 2005 i've tried 110, 120, 130 in MTE, MTW, Downtown-Soho, and MTS. No luck at all. I'm aiming nothin more than 130, and would prefer MTW 3* or Upper West side with a 4*.Thank yoU!!!!!!
thereuare Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 Based upon current prices I don't think you're budget is high enough for a 3* or 4* in your preferred zones.HOTWIRE has a 3* in MTE for $120/nite (very possible the Radisson on Lexington) and you could get another $10 off per nite if you're a new customer by using the code GIFTCARD06.QUIKBOOK has both the Park Central (good for you locationwise) and the Eastgate Tower (a great hotel but on the east side) for $159... a bit more than you want to spend, but perhaps given the circumstances (higher prices elsewhere and the Park Central's location) it would be worthwhile to consider.Other that the above i think you'll need to increase your budget or lower your star quality... but i wouldn't be going much lower than 3* on an opaque purchase.Let us know what you decide to do and/or if we can be of additional help. ninjai Posted May 16, 2005 Author Report Posted May 16, 2005 thanks a whole bunch! i just got hilton new york for 150 per night. my friend tried all the way up to 190 last week and it didn't work. i tried just now for 150, and it worked instantly. i saw other posts about people getting hilton new york for 130-150. i think if it's during weekdays, this is a good price range to try. good luck everybody! yay i'm so happy now.
