Any ideas on what these three are? Trip search on Hotwire (5/18/11) was for a stay on 7/27/11--7/31/11.

1) 3* hotel for $162

Amenities include: Airport Shuttle. Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant, Business Center and High-speed Internet Access.

(HW lists the Trip Advisor rating as 3)

2) 2.5* hotel for $101

Amenities include: No Smoking, Fitness Center, High-speed Internet Access.

(HW lists the TA rating as 2)

3) 2* hotel for $85

Amenities include: Restaurant and High-speed Internet Access.

(HW lists the TA rating as 2.5)

Thanks for any help!

There's only one 3* hotel i know in Ithaca which uses the opaque suites - The Holiday Inn. That rate is too high for it, you may want to use PRICELINE to get it down. Look at previous wins on this forum.

Thanks so much for the reply. No, I'm not especially interested in TA ratings that low, but I'm also not interested in well over $700 for four nights. HW only listed these three places for my dates in Ithaca, so what would you do?

Thanks for any guidance!

For Fri-Sun (7/29-8/1), just tried PRICELINE. A $110 bid for a 3* (almost surely the Holiday Inn) was rejected.

So, now wondering about the following hotel from HOTWIRE (for Ithaca, NY):

2.5* hotel for $108

Amenities include: No Smoking, Fitness Center, High-speed Internet Access, Pool

(HW lists the TA rating as 2)

Is it maybe the Best Western University Inn?

Thanks for any advice!

B

P.S. Yeah, I'm guessing there is an event there that weekend--don't know what it is, but I'm not (yet) a fan!

The Best Western University currently has a TA rating of 3.5 so i don't think that's what you're likely seeing here... the Clarion and Ramada both have 2.0 TA ratings at the moment so i would think one of these is more likely, although neither seems like a great choice given the TA rating, imo.
