Priceline Hotel: 3,5 to 4* Toronto 09/July to 30/July

Hi Guys,

First I want to thank you for this great forum.

I'm a newbie for priceline and have some small questions and would be happy for some advices.

I would like to stay 20 nights in a 3,5 or 4 star hotel in Toronto Downtown.

What do you think is a realistic price for 4 star, 3,5 and 3 star hotels?

Is it better to search for the whole stay or should I split it into smaler stays due to price changes or something like that?

What would be your desired max budget per night, and which PRICELINE zones would be acceptable? With 21 days, splitting at at least once (and quite possibly 2-3 times) may be best.

If you just enter "toronto" in the Quick Search box up at the top of this page, you will see what other bidders have reported for that city.

And then if you use the Calendar of Wins - center of this page - selecting Canada-Priceline and entering your dates - you will see results for your specific dates. You will have to split the dates up here, as it will only show 14 days at a time.

For me it is more important to be in the right area than the hotel categorie.

It should be Downtown (one of the two available areas).

The price should be below 90 USD (or CAD).

I calculated with 70 to 80 USD but I have noticed that this is not realistic, isn't it?

$90 may be enough for this stay, but if not, you should at least be able to get some of the dates at around this price point.

To begin, are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay? Did you want to try for the full stay at once or do you want to begin with just a sub-set of these dates? Are you willing to bid up to $90/nite at this time?

For me it is more important to save money than having a 4 star hotel.

If it would be easier to get a good rate I will split my stay.

I looked up rates by day on Priceline retail. They are almost always flat across the whole time span. So a logical split might just be week by week, breaking on the day that would be most convenient to move. First bidding the full span just in case there was something available that long, and then each week block.
