Ludicrous_Speed Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 Started at $90 with Millenium/Grant/Loop. Rejected but counteroffered for $115. I rejected and added River North and $100: Rejected. I added rebid zone and went to $112: Accepted. Looks like a nice property. Now to figure out where to eat with kids within walking distance. :)
AaronJB Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 Congrats on your success. :)Very good deal for this property. There's not a ton of restaurants open nearby later in the evening, but nearby I do recommend as a family-friendly option Hackney's Printers Row (http://www.hackneys.net/). If you sign up for their email club on the front page of their website, you do get a coupon (I think it's $10 off $30, but it expires a couple weeks after issue, I believe, as well. Still, not a bad deal, especially for a larger group.) There's also a Lou Malnati's Pizza at 805 S State St, also very close by (both places are a very short walk.) In terms of Hackney's, you can get a look at the food/dining experience on this clip from "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives", although that clip visits the first of the few locations, which is in the 'burbs (but it gives you an idea.)Oh, almost forgot another Loop "family-friendly" suggestion: Flat Top Grill (a "make your own Stir Fry" restaurant, where you can keep going back and creating different combinations.) You can also get deals via their email club. Please let me know if you have any city questions.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
brucelee Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 I used to work near here and if you're in the mood for Asian, I highly recommend Tamarind Sushi, right around the corner from the hotel at 614 S Wabash. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. Also, note that the name is a bit of a misnomer, they have a wide selection of Chinese and Thai dishes in addition to sushi. They get a lot of traffic from the nearby hotels, so if there's a conference in town it's best to call and check availability (this goes for anything in the area).
