Priceline Hotel: New York city Sept 13-16 2011

My first trip (Sept 13-16 2011) to New York City ever and I was hoping to stay in Manhattan for a resonable price. We are looking for a 2.5* or better, clean room, as we will be out and about most of the time anyway. I'm just wondering what kind of strategy should I use. Thanks in advance!!

For starters, we don't typically recommend the 2.5* and lower rated hotels in NYC... while some may suit your needs just fine, there might be others which do not, and with PRICELINE / HOTWIRE you don't get to choose which type you will get :)

I haven't looked yet, but based upon seasonal factors i'm assuming that these dates are likely a bit higher then usual, what is your expected target budget (per nite before taxes and fees) for this stay? Have you decided which zone(s) you're willing to accept?

We are hoping to find something for $150-$170 per night (fingers crossed). NYMSG NYTS NYMTE are some zones we are looking at. I hope this makes sense. Thanks Thereuare, much appreciated!!

From 2.5* to 4*?? :)

There are currently no 4* hotels in the MSG zone and while you can try, at the moment i'm very doubtful that your budget is going to be enough for a 4* hotel.
