leahnedwards Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 We are staying in Atlanta (Downtown) on May 20-22. We do not mind Marriott Marquis or Hilton. How do we make sure we can get either one of these? Also, how do we find out what floor we got put on and how do we get it to a higher floor if wanted? Anyone know the cost of upgrading if they charge?
yellowdog Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding :) We do not mind Marriott Marquis or Hilton. How do we make sure we can get either one of these? You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE. You have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) you select. There's currently five 4* hotels reported for this zone so you can hit ny of them or a new property. If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.how do we find out what floor we got put on and how do we get it to a higher floor if wanted? You can call the hotel when you know the name of it and ask them.Anyone know the cost of upgrading if they charge? There's no general rate for this. And the hotel might be unable or unwilling to accommodate your request. You need to deal with this after you got a hotel.Let us know how we can help you further.Yellowdog.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
