layster Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Hi,I never stayed in Chicago before so I think this area is a perfect location for a newbie like myself to the city.I don't know where to start with bidding as I already tried $75 and was rejected, might it be better I wait till the date gets closer?

layster Posted May 14, 2011 Author Report Posted May 14, 2011 should I wait closer to the date or bid aggressively now?
layster Posted May 17, 2011 Author Report Posted May 17, 2011 I continued bidding, I was given the option to upgrade my bid to $125/night twice but instead I closed the browser and continued back bidding at $95-$105.But I was slowly getting impatient, it's been ~4 days of retrying, so I upped the bid from $105 to $110. And I won!I secured Hotel Felix, but after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. There are a few negative reviews, mostly due to the small size of the room. Lucky it will be only myself and my girlfriend, and we won't be planning to stay in our rooms for very much, other than sleep. But for the rest of you fellas, I am sending out a caution that if you are planning to squeeze more than 2 people into the room, wait a little while before bidding on dates I am there as this hotel will likely only accommodate 2 people to a room.
