NaomiP Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 HelloI would like to try and bid for the Venetian (or other 5 * hotel) for the 18th and 19th of August, a two night stay. Not quite sure how to go about bidding for this as I am new to this but I think I am right in saying that as long as I specify a 5 star on the North strip on Priceline I will end up with either:5* Palazzo 5* Venetian 5* Wynn Any of which I would be happy with. Can anyone advise on the best technique e.g. shall I book now or wait until it gets closer to the day....I know it is probably a fairly inexact science but just looking for some general info.thank you

NaomiP Posted May 12, 2011 Author Report Posted May 12, 2011 Ok, clicked the PRICELINE link. Did you want me to post it somewhere different?
thereuare Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 Did you want me to post it somewhere different? No, but we would like you to use the requested PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board each time you access the respective site(s) :)While hotels you list above are the only 5* properties reported to the board in this zone, there could always be others, as new hotels are added frequently, and other hotels can be upgraded/downgraded at any time. See the comments at the top of the Pirceline Hotel List for a 'disclaimer'.What is your maximum bid for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 At the moment i'm doubtful that $95 will be enough for a 5* in the Strip North zone (it will likely take another $20-$40 or so)If you want to give it a try anyway:At the 5* level you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 5* Strip North...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $73, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $78, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $83, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $88, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. will34 Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 $95 a night :)$95 a night will be close for Thursday night, but based on recent wins I don't think you have a good chance since your stay includes a Friday night. I would guess more like $120. On a related note that I've been wondering, does anyone know what happens if you bid for Thursday night and win it at say, $100, and then choose the "Add a Night to your stay" option and pick Friday? Does it charge you extra since Friday is more expensive?

It can be the same as your bid for the first night, but if the added night is more expensive the offered rate will most probably be higher. And you will pay an additional basic PL fee for the added night, no matter what the rate is.Romelle

I was under the assumption that the link to add additional nights only appeared if the offer was already approved. Thanks.BTW, it looks like someone just won the Venetian for $115 on an August trip that included weekend nights.
