scottiec Posted May 13, 2011 Author Report Posted May 13, 2011 I would like to get some kind of strategy together.I am happy to pay up to about $220 per night but of course the cheaper the better.I will also use the PRICELINE links having read through the threads about bidding from outside USI also want to remove mte from the listThanks Scott
thereuare Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 I also want to remove mte from the listIs there a reason you want to exclude MTE from your bidding (is there a specific hotel you're trying to avoid) as this zone typically works well for the average user at the 4* level... it's only at 3.5* and under where the location of some of the known hotels becomes an issue. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. scottiec Posted May 14, 2011 Author Report Posted May 14, 2011 No reason other than I thought I read it in a reply you posted to someone else that some hotels in that area were up to a 15 min walk to subway
thereuare Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 All the 'known' 4* hotels in the MTE zone are well located... it's only at the 3.5* and under where location becomes a known issue.Given this info, do you want to include MTE in your bidding? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 This is typically an expensive time of year in NYC but it's also still early, so it depends upon your risk tolerance whether you bid up to $220 now and get accepted (and risk rates dropping in the next few months) vs. waiting for lower prices (and rates simply continue to move higher)You can stop at whatever amount you'd like, but this is how i would bid:At the 4* level you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* MTE, MTW, ESB, UWS...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* CPS...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* TS...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTE, MTW, ESB, UWS, TS...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $185, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTE, MTW, ESB, UWS, CPS...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $185, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* CPS, MTE, MTW, TS, ESB, UWS...Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $200, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $205, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $210, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $215, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $220Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
