I've been trying to get a Manhattan hotel 21-24 May within a couple of miles of Times Square.

I've bid up to $155 on priceline through the links provided on this site. This bid has been rejected for 4* and 3*. I've also tried spliltting my dates to avoid bidding on a Saturday night, but it's been to no avail. Thoughts?

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Unfortunately, Spring is a very busy period in NYC. What would be your desired budget per night? Which zones would be acceptable?

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

I'd like to stay in MTE, MTW, TS, ESB, MSG or HK. I'm hoping to spend less than $160/night. I've noticed from the "wins" section that people have been able to get the same time period for $155 in MTW.

Most wins for these dates are higher then $160, and the few wins which are priced less, were made months ago... rates have increased since then.

If you're going to try SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID have you tried 5/21-5/23 which i think may be a better split then 5/22-5/24?

I was able to get the 3* Holiday in Wall Street for $170/night for 5/22 - 5/24 on priceline. It's a bit farther from the action than I wanted to be, but still within the budget. So I only have to book a hotel for the night of 5/21 now.

Then I called the hotel and asked if I could change my dates to include the 21st. They had no problem with that. So I now have a hotel room for $170/night for Sat and Sun nights and only need to book Mon night. I'm fairly happy with that rate for those nights. It's great that the hotel was so accomodating in changing my stay to cover a more expensive period with no adjustment to the original reservation rate.
