Priceline Hotel: 2.5* Chicago Suburbs (Dundee-Elgin) Country Inn

Looking for Elgin accomendations this weekend....May 14, departing on the 15th. Any ever book a hotel though Hotwire or Priceline for this area. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

We only have information on what has been reporeted in the board.

Don't think you'll be able to have an idea of what you will get before you bid, but we can certainly suggest a strategy to follow if you want to move forward with Priceline or HOTWIRE for this stay.

I tried a couple of different ways to book rooms last night for this coming weekend in Elgin Il. Started off looking at 3 * hotels and my bidding strategy was this:

Select 3* Elgin/Dundee...

Bid $33, and was rejected added Elmhurst (No - 3*s)...

Bid $35, and was rejected added Arlington Heights North (also No 3 *'s)

Bid $40, and was rejected.

Since I was only able to bid for rooms now in all three zones....last night...today I opened a new browser window and:

Select 2 1/2* Elgin/Dundee

Bid $35.00, and my bid was accepted for:

Country Inn And Suites Elgin 2 1/2 *

Dundee - Elgin

2270 Point Boulevard

Elgin, Illinois 60123

Interesting thing is....I tried to book another room for another party needing a room there the same night and it was rejected for the $35.00 bid.

Thank you for sharing your winning bid with the board and enabling us to add this hotel to our lists... now we at least have one hotel won in this zone and can use it as a frame of reference.

It is possible that you got the last two 'opaque' rooms available.
