99leeric Posted May 6, 2011 Author Report Posted May 6, 2011 done. i've commented on the boston thread.i've also clicked on the linkfor the past couple of hours i've tried prices ranging from 50-100 for 4 star hotels in downtown toronto south with no lucki've also tried 3.5 star in downtown toronto south from 70-85 with nothingwhat should i do?
99leeric Posted May 6, 2011 Author Report Posted May 6, 2011 i had another question.. since ive bidded on 6-7 different areas in Toronto (i only want 4 star or 3.5 star in Toronto downtown south)... when i wait 24 hrs... i can start back in one one area which is toronto downtown southright?
99leeric Posted May 6, 2011 Author Report Posted May 6, 2011 oh yes and an update on my request for datesi'm looking at May 17th - 21stjust one hotel. either 4 star or 3.5star in downtown toronto south
AaronJB Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 There is no way to ensure a particular property, and not all properties participate on PRICELINE or HOTWIRE. Additionally, PRICELINE does not offer 5* bidding in Toronto.Which zones are acceptable, and would you be willing to accept any property within the desired zones? If you make a particular bid, you can make that specific bid again in 24 hours.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
99leeric Posted May 6, 2011 Author Report Posted May 6, 2011 the only zone that i want is downtown toronto south... and i want either 4* or 3.5*.. as mentioned i've bidded both 3.5* and 4* throughout the day.. from $50-$100.. .and i just got an email indicating that another buyer got 4* in the same zone for $80?this doesnt make any sense...
AaronJB Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 The email win is not for your same dates. If your bids have not yet been accepted for these dates at the level/s mentioned above, then you will have to move slowly higher, although I'd move up slowly. HOTWIRE has listings not much above where you've already bid, so I have to imagine you're not far - there's a 4* in Downtown East for $121, a 3.5* for Downtown West for $105, a 3.5* Downtown East for $107 (the prices you see may vary slightly.) The list of reported Hotwire wins in the area is available at this link: Hotwire Hotel List. You can continue slowly up on PRICELINE, but these listings are worth considering if you proceed too much higher w/o acceptance on PRICELINE.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
99leeric Posted May 7, 2011 Author Report Posted May 7, 2011 ok thanks... i appreciate your help and will use your PRICELINE link and report back.
99leeric Posted May 8, 2011 Author Report Posted May 8, 2011 used your PRICELINE link and booked and got hilton at $135kind of high but oh well
thereuare Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 Congratulations on your success! While perhaps more than you originally intended to pay, this appears to be a very nice deal for this property on these dates. Hope you're happy with the outcome and this hotel works for your needs.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
