rdena Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Hi,Just registered on this board and fairly new to priceline. My wife and I will be in SF on July 2d till July 5th and would like a 3.5* hotel in the Fisherman's Wharf area.Is it worth to try it at priceline? It's probably hard to get a good price, because it's a saturday check-in and because of 4th of july.I tried bidding for a couple of days (with the 5 free rebidding zones) up to 140$ but got rejected. What would be a good price, should I bid higher (3* is not preferable for us)?Thank you!Best regards, Ralph
thereuare Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! At the moment i'm guessing a 3.5* property in the Fishermans Wharf zone will likely cost ~$200/nite (perhaps slightly less)... what is the best deal you're able to find thru conventional booking channels? Is the Fisherman Wharf zone the only acceptable location, as it appears that there are some decent deals (4* hotels for less then you've already bid) in the other Downtown areas such as USE, USW, Embarcadero, etc. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. rdena Posted May 5, 2011 Author Report Posted May 5, 2011 Thanks for your responseLowest rate I can find for my dates and 3.5* at FW is $232 (Sheraton)I really like to stay in the FW area. I will try bidding again later, for now I booked a back-up hotel which I can cancel if I succeed in getting a good deal at priceline.
