julie1021 Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Traveling (by car) to NYC July 15th, 2011 thru July 18th, 2011. Need a hotel that will sleep 7 (which in NYC seems impossible) So am thinking I am going to have to purchase 2 rooms. Would like to stay in the $150.00 to $175.00 range since I am going to be paying this for each room. Would like to stay in Midtown Weat or Midtown East, but am open to anything as we have never been to NYC so all of it will be eye-opening no matter where we stay. Will have to have 2 beds in each room can you request that? Will need parking for van (have also thought about parking car at airport garage and taking taxi to hotel so we don't have to drive smack dab into the city).
AaronJB Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy/1 bed, and that is especially true in New York City, where rooms are commonly small or very small - some rooms are as small as 130-160 sq ft (not large enough in some cases to even fit a rollaway.) Using PRICELINE in NYC and requiring more than 1 bed is definitely a risk; using HOTWIRE is recommended, as with HOTWIRE you can indicate the amount of people in the party. While that does not guarantee 2 beds, it does ensure bedding for the entire party (2 beds, 1 + sofabed or other combination.) Are you seeing any listings of interest when searching on HOTWIRE?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
