NiteNiteOwl Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 I'm new to both this forum and the Priceline bidding process, so please go easy on me. I am trying, though. :)I've been bidding on a room for Friday, May 13th to Sunday, May 15th in the Times Sqaure/Theatre District. I started at $175 per night a few days ago and have slowly worked my way up to $251. Still no dice.I'm hoping to end up at the Marriott Marquis, but at this rate... who knows.Any helpful advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

AaronJB Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Two nights is a short stay, but unfortunately these are busy dates and TS (are you interested in any other zones?) is generally the most expensive area in NYC. Additionally, there are quite a few 4*'s in the TS zone; are you only looking for the Marriott, or are you willing to accept any 4* in the zone? Additionally, what would be your desired max budget per night?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
NiteNiteOwl Posted May 3, 2011 Author Report Posted May 3, 2011 Hello! Thank you for the reply. :) Am I willing to accept other 4* hotels? Sure, I don't have a much of a choice! Haha. But the Marriott is definitely my preference. I'm not really interested in other zones; though, if this doesn't work out I might try the Upper West Side for The Empire Hotel, as I've stayed there before. My max budget per night is $365.This probably seems like a silly question, but I'm going to ask anyway. Is anyone aware of other hotels in the NYC area that have glass elevators? (I know the Marquis does.) I'm somewhat claustrophobic and the glass elevators really make all the different for me. Silly, but something I'm taking into consideration.Thank you again!
NiteNiteOwl Posted May 4, 2011 Author Report Posted May 4, 2011 Wow, Priceline hates me. I've gone all the way up to $346 with nothing. Rejected every time. I wonder if there's an event going on or something.
