Bid $45 with only the Fremont zone and 3.5* selected, was rejected and told to offer $60. Added the Mountain View zone (no 3.5* or higher) and bid $51, was accepted. Bidding was done on 4/30 for a room the same night.

From seeing other posts, $45 was probably a bit greedy and $46 might have worked. Nevertheless, happy with the outcome. Thanks betterbidding :)

Update: Bid $47 with only the Fremont zone and 3.5* selected, was rejected but the clock struck 11PM EDT and thus no more bids were allowed for the night. Bidding was done on 5/6 for a room the same night. So, perhaps $47 is not a lock (or perhaps I was rejected solely for the proximity to 11PM and not because $47 is too low).

I doubt the 11pm cut-off had anything to do with it, rates are date specific, so you may not always be able to replicate a winning bid price if rates for your dates are different then when another user won a bid.
