mikebrie Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 I bid for a four-star hotel in Downtown-Vanderbilt area for $40/night, got rejected. Then I bid for a three- or four-star hotel in the same area for $50/night, got rejected. Then I used the great advice recommended on this website for re-bidding: I found that west nashville (and south nashville) only offer 2-star options or lower, so I added one of them to the list, bid $65/night, and got accepted for the Marriott Vanderbilt -- a four-star hotel listed at $139/night on Expedia for that weekend. I bid on 5/10 for a stay starting on 5/20, so I bid 10 days in advance. I think this is an excellent deal, and better than Expedia or my travel agents can do! It's possible that the hotel would go for between $50-64/night -- I am going to advise a friend to start bidding in that price range, and I will post their results. Thanks a ton for this website and the advice on it!! I had to post after your good advice worked for me!
