boddicker52 Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 The bidding strategy I used to get the above listed hotel may be of use to others. On Expedia, the rate was listed as $200 a night on weekends, and $250 a night during the week. I had been trying to get all 4 nights (May 25th through 29th) for a long period of time, even bidding up to $110 a night. I finally split it into two 2 night segments, and won the weekend rather easily at $90. Then, even though I did not anticipate success, I decided to take a chance and do the a`dd on two nights' to the beginning of the stay. This was accepted, and I won all 4 nights for about $435 total with taxes, as opposed to Expedia's rate of $1,026. Thus, I saved almost $600. Worked out well for me since my parents really wanted to spend all 4 nights in the same hotel, and they are looking forward to this histroric property in an ideal location. Thanks. Used the Better Bidding PRICELINE link, as always.
