Priceline Hotel: NYC Times Square June 1-5, 2011 - 4* Bidding Advice Needed

Hi -

I have never used Priceline/Hotwire for hotels before, but have been reading a lot of excellent advice on these boards.

I will be making a trip with a friend to NYC essentially just to see theater between June 1-5, 2011. Due to our desire to be close to the theaters, we would like to stay right in Times Square (have stayed there many times before).

Our budget is between $200-220/night - any bidding advice for 4* hotels is very much appreciated.

My advice would be to consider other areas outside of Times Square (include TS but also bid other areas) as the NYC zones are so close together, and mass transit and/or taxis easily accessible, that other zones will likely prove to be almost as convenient... better to save an extra $50/nite and spend $10 on a taxi to/from the theatre then restirct yourself to just one zone.

However, it's your stay and you know your needs best, so if this is the only zone you're willing to accept...

At the 4* level you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* TS...

Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $175

While the above will likely prove to be too low, with time on your side i would start there, if/when rejected post back and we'll revise to try again in 24 hours.
