lisaaarrghh Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 Looking for a 3* or 3.5* hotel downtown/soho/times square/mid-town west area for max $150I'm not familiar with bidding and not sure if these prices are reasonable. Help please?
thereuare Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please start by reading your messages.I'm doubtful that $150 will be enough for these dates, but if you want to give it a try, did you want to first try for a 4* up to your limit before trying for a 3.5* OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. lisaaarrghh Posted April 30, 2011 Author Report Posted April 30, 2011 Hi I have tried 4* up to my limit and had no luck.Basically, looking for the lowest price for 3* and up.
thereuare Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 To confirm you're bidding the DT, TS and MTW zones? If this is correct, at the 3* level you have ONE re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* DT...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* TS...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* MTW...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* DT and TS...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* DT and MTW...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* DT, TS and MTW...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. lisaaarrghh Posted May 1, 2011 Author Report Posted May 1, 2011 I have tried up to $155 and still no luckShould I separate the dates?
thereuare Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Personally i would add other zones (such as MSG and ESB) before splitting, but i'm not sure how much either will help, unless you're willing to change hotels twice (ie- 3 different hotels) as i think you can get the weekend nites within your budget, but the midweek nites are more troublesome.HOTWIRE has the 3* Murray Hill East Suites for $177/nite... but this is 2* rated on PRICELINE.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll try to assist further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. lisaaarrghh Posted May 2, 2011 Author Report Posted May 2, 2011 I have tried including the other areas as well but no luck at the price. I am now willing to increase my budget to $200 a night for a 3.5* hotel in the mid/down town area. Do you think this is feasible? Many thanks for your help so far!
thereuare Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 At the 3.5* level you're willing to accept a hotel in the DT, TS, MTW, ESB and MSG zones? Please confirm and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
