sage Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Bid $37 in RTP zone. Rejected and counter-offered $52. Added RDU zone and increased to a whopping $38, assuming Radisson would accept (2 recent wins of mine at that price). Accepted instead by newly renovated HGI. Looking forward to a property not previously stayed at.Tried to see best Hilton rate, and found no rooms were available. Interesting I would have gotten the last one, but it was same day, so I just topped them off. Best rate for the next day was $79, so probably got a good deal. Started with BB's link.
sage Posted April 28, 2011 Author Report Posted April 28, 2011 Well, that's interesting. P/L called me on the cell phone staying HGI is overbooked. Relocated to stay nearby in Hyatt Place instead, another property I haven't tried.
AaronJB Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Congrats on your success. :)Very nice deal, and hopefully the Hyatt Place will work well for your travel plans. I'd write PRICELINE, as usually some sort of compensation is offered when guests are "walked" to another property from an overbooked property.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
thereuare Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 I don't think hotels will typically offer compensation (on an opaque purchase) if you're notified beforehand and the new hotel is of the same quality... it's usually only if you show up at the hotel and are then told that they're overbooked. Although PRICELINE may offer some bonus money to use on a future purchase. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
