Hotwire Hotel: 4.5* Chicago (NMA-Water Tower-Gold Coast) Sofitel

I ran the same search and got a 4.5 star for $146 & a 4 star for $124. I suspect the 4.5 star is the Sofitel and the 4 star is the Millenium Knickerbocker. If it were my money, I'd pay a little more and go for the Sofitel. I stayed at the Knickerbocker several years ago and wasn't overly impressed.

Perhaps "thereuare" can comment on the star rating of the Sofitel - looks like it was most recently reported as 4 stars but did show up as 4.5 stars at some point in time. Judging from the reviews I've seen lately (on Trip Advisor) I'd say it's probably worthy of the 4.5 star rating.

I was all set to book this 4.5* on Hotwire which came up for $143 last night after reading that it was the SOFITEL, but today it is coming up as $197. What a difference?

Any opinions on the SOFITEL vs. the DRAKE for a special stay?

Thanks so much in advance! :)
