rvianu Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 First, thank you in advance for any help. This is a great forum/idea. I'm trying to book a 4* for the dates referenced. I could move the check-in date forward by 24 to 48 hours, if that helps (without changing check-out date). I submitted thus far about 15 priceline requests without success. My goal is to get a room for $150 (?$175).Area: In terms of areas, my experience has been that downtown-soho-financial hotels tend to be larger/nicer but I'm open. I read many semi bad reviews for one of their Midtown hotels but I'm generally open to most areas of NYC.Any insight/thoughts are truly appreciated.Best regards,Ron(By the way, the reason I avoid 3.5* or less: I believe the star rating system provided by priceline is a little generous. I recently got a 3.5* for one night for $125. I ended up with the Algonquin Hotel. The room was truly horrible for a variety of reasons. My companion was pretty adamant about leaving so we left and ended up at the Andaz for the evening (a really nice place). Priceline ultimately refunded me for the price of the hotel room after I sent them an email.)
