VTGIRL Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 I'm trying to get a good deal on a 4* in Stowe, VT for April 30 - May 1.I know you cannot select room type/beds, but... I really only want a king or queen or queen/queen. I'd guess that the Stoweflake would be the hotel I'd likely get, if I got one (Stowe Mountain Lodge & Trapp Family are considerably higher priced and only offer the beds I want anyway). Stoweflake is currently showing NO availability with double/doubles, only kings or queens. Would that be a relatively safe indicator of what I *might* get? Or is it still a total toss up?
VTGIRL Posted April 28, 2011 Author Report Posted April 28, 2011 I decided to go ahead and try and bid at $100 and $110 with no success.
thereuare Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!I still wouldn't count on a specific room configuration. Hotels often book multiple reservations which give them flexibility in regards to room assignment, PRICELINE and HOTWIRE reservations just being two of the many options available to them. For example, a hotel could have 20 double/double rooms, but 30 'flex' reservations on the books (and willing to accept more since they may have availability at this or the next room class)... this could cause them to show no availability for double/doubles on their website thru direct purchase, but still have one to assign you at check-in.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know if/how you'd like to proceed. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
