osbornedd Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 My fiance and I will be traveling New York for a portion of our honeymoon :) before leaving NYC to go overseas. We would like to stay somewhere nice and near times square, but don't want to spend over $200/night. Any tips on how we can go on Priceline and get something Nice and inexpensive? We will be there for 2 nights - June 19th and June 20th. We want to be w/i walking distance of Times Square and the Today show. Any suggestions? What price point do I start at for a 4* during this time of year in the areas that I want? Thanks :)
thereuare Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! My first advice is to forget the geographic restrictions and simply go for the best deal you can find within a 'reasonable' area. NYC is small enough, and mass transit inexpensive and readily available, that you don't really need to be within walking distance of the Today Show. Almost any midtown location can have you to another midtown location in 10-15 minutes. You can learn more from this guide to PRICELINE NYC ZONE DESCRIPTIONS.If the above is agreeable to you, i've been recommending THIS HOTEL a LOT lately as i believe it offers a great value. The Eastgate Tower is about a 15 minute walk to Times Square (or 4 blocks to Grand Central Station which will then take you anywhere within NYC you care to go) and the reviews are excellent. For your date a Studio Suite (with kitchen) is priced at $157/nite.Does that work well for you?
