margaret_nyc Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Hello thereI am trying to land a hotel room for the night as cheaply as possible, I am not picky about the location, but rather I am interested in keeping the price down. so far I have tried all zones on Manhattan (skipping Brookline etc.), gone up to $150 for 3starts, with no success. Can you give me advice on a strategy and perhaps and indication of how much lower I might get the room if I go down to 2 1/2 stars.Thank you so much,Margaret
AaronJB Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Bidding for 2.5* and under in NYC is generally not advised as the quality can vary more substantially once you start getting into 2.5* (and especially at the 2* level) in NYC. If your desired max bid is $150, I think you may still be looking at $135-145 for a 2.5*. Unfortunately, the Spring season in NYC is busy/expensive.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
margaret_nyc Posted April 27, 2011 Author Report Posted April 27, 2011 Thank you for getting back to me.Can you suggest a bidding strategy for me, for a 3 star, at what price would you start? Thank you for your time,Margaret
AaronJB Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 If you have already bid up to $150 and have not been accepted at the 3* level, I would next try $165, and then move higher by $5's if $165 is not accepted.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
