Trying to book a 4* in NYC (MTE, CPS, ESA) from may 4-8. Using priceline. Started the bidding at $150 and went up to $180 with no luck. Time is running out and I'm getting nervous! Pointers anyone?!

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Unfortunately, Spring in NYC is busy and these dates will require a higher bid - possibly in the $190-210 neighborhood for (MTE/ESB/CPS). What would be your desired max budget per night?

Thank you.

I would definitely max out at $200 per night. Realistically I understand it doesn't leave much wiggle room and I'm not very comfortable staying in a 3 1/2 star because I don't really know what to expect. I'm also not a huge fan of the times square area and would prefer to stay on the outskirts. I stayed at the W on 49th and Lexington the last time I was in ny and was very pleased even though the rooms were small. Ideally I would get the W again or something similar in quality. How should I go about this?

I am now looking for a similar room. I am fine with 3.5 stars or even 3 but would rather pay around 150.

If you can let me know how that goes for you because I'm going to try bidding again in an hour or so

The W New York is a 4* in MTE, although there are other possible 4* properties in MTE besides the W, as can be seen on the Priceline Hotel List. Hotwire does have a 4* in the Chelsea-MSG area for $196 (the price you see may vary) w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business. This is a possible match for the Hilton Fashion District. The Hilton - which was previously the Wyndham Fashion 26 - has not yet been reported to the board on PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, but the Wyndham was previously reported on HOTWIRE with this amenity set.
