YOUNGT317 Posted April 24, 2011 Author Report Posted April 24, 2011 Checking in May 14th, checking out May 21st. I definitely have clicked on the HOTWIRE links from your site. Thanks!
AaronJB Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 I'm not seeing this listing when searching - how many people are you searching for? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
YOUNGT317 Posted April 24, 2011 Author Report Posted April 24, 2011 It's actually gone now. When I do the same search as earlier it no longer shows that hotel. After I posted, I read another comment and it sounds like it was the Condado. We would really like to stay at El San Juan Hotel and Casino. Are there any unique amenities it offers that will help identify it if and when it comes up on hotwire?Do you know of any discounts offered at The W on Vieques Island?
AaronJB Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 The hotels that have been reported to the board on HOTWIRE can be found on this Hotwire Hotel List. The W is $273 for these dates and coupon BRIGHT11 takes another $60 off the final total.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE, PRICELINE or Expedia links to start your purchases and searches. If you book the W directly, please use the links in the site's Support/Travel section.
YOUNGT317 Posted April 24, 2011 Author Report Posted April 24, 2011 I was apprehensive use this list as the original posting date as back in 2003. There probably is a note that says it's continuously updated, but in case there isn't, maybe one should be added:)
AaronJB Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 There is a note in the FAQ regarding updates. The lists are continually upgraded; the date notes when they were originally posted.
YOUNGT317 Posted April 24, 2011 Author Report Posted April 24, 2011 I went to their website and the cheapest price I saw was $309. How did you get the $273 price? Also, I went to the support page and did not see the appropriate link that would take me to The W's website.
AaronJB Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 You can use the Westin link in the support/travel page and then click to the home page and search from there.Forgot to note earlier that the $273 + coupon for the W is via Expedia.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE, PRICELINE or Expedia links to start your purchases and searches.
YOUNGT317 Posted April 26, 2011 Author Report Posted April 26, 2011 So, went on Hotwire. All amenities for the $99/room rate seemed to indicate that this hotel was the Conrad Condado. Went to TripAdvisor to review this hotel, and recent reviews were negative so was kind of turned off. Decided to take my chances on Priceline and if bid wasn't accepted could still check back on Hotwire and see if selection had changed. Here's how it went down:Bid $82 on resorts in San Juan. Bid was rejected, but Priceline offered me to rebid immediately at $102. They said that due to the availability in my area they were offering me this unique rebid opportunity. I declined, added a different area I knew didn't have a resort, and increased by $5 ($87). Offer was accepted, but darned if it wasn't the Conrad! Maybe if you can identify the hotel on Hotwire, it will be the one you get on Priceline.Alas, we are disappointed. Something else I'd read was that as soon as you book your hotel, call the hotel directly to confirm room details. I was told by the hotel that they literally can make NO CHANGES and add NO NOTES to your account. Once your price is confirmed, Priceline literally tells you to call the hotel and make these arrangements so I was really confused. Called Priceline, and they told me they would send a fax request to the Conrad, but additional fees may be charged by the hotel. And there is no guarantee they will honor these requests.Beggars can't be choosers, and I'm sure we'll have a lovely time. Just wanted to give ya'll the scoop!BTW I used BB PRICELINE links to book this reservation.
AaronJB Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Congrats on your success. :)Very nice deal for this Conrad property - while some of the recent reviews are mixed, the overall (4/5) is very good.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
