keenasbidder Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 ok my head is spinning. Dont know if its because I have been in front of comp all day??I would love to bid on accom in New York 3.5*- 4* for September. I'm looking at MTE, TS OR MTW with a budget of $150 -$180 per night inc taxes, but I'm having a hard time understanding the process. Since I'm not in an extreme hurry to book can I just bid say on MTE 4* each 24 hour raising the bid by $5 each 24 hour period or do I have to go though the changing zone/*rating process? What would my strategy be? I'm in Australia as well is it possible to pay via Visa or does it have to be Amex?Thank you in advance
yellowdog Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!I think this is the link you're asking after: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained Just ask if you have any questions around this. You can register a VISA on PRICELINEHave a look at this link: Priceline Non-US BiddersLet us know how we can help you further.Yellowdog.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
AaronJB Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Please provide the exact date/s of travel. Additionally, September is a busy/expensive month in NYC, and $150-180 inc taxes - depending on when in September - very well may fall short of what's necessary for a 3.5-4* in Midtown.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
keenasbidder Posted April 26, 2011 Author Report Posted April 26, 2011 Thank you AaronJB and Yellowdog for your replies.I was afraid you were going to say that about September. We are looking at arriving around Sept 14th departing the 17th.This is all part of a trip for my daughters 21st. We are coming in from Hawaii, L.A after N.Y we are off to Washington, Orlando, Vegas, Hawaii back to Sydney, so I am trying to cut costs as much as I can so we can see as much as we can.I don't mind going down to a 2.5* say if I was likely to get the likes of Eastgate towers, but don't really want to have to share bathrooms etc.....Well my daughter would freak out more so.We are not too fussy I guess if you could say that and will stay anywhere around MTE, MTW, TS, ESB, CPS ( or other recommendations )Do you think I should put out my feelers now and see how I go or since it will be a busy time wait till a bit closer. I'm also going to try bidding for hotels in other locations on our trip as well so I would like to start soon so I dont overwhelm myself. he he he.Can you suggest a strategy? Thanks again,K
