CL5 Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Would breaking up the dates give me a better chance at better prices?

CL5 Posted April 22, 2011 Author Report Posted April 22, 2011 I would like to find something around $120/night if possible in Central Park, Chelsea, Downtown - SoHo, Hell's Kitchen, Midtown East/West. This will be my first time in NY so I'm not really familiar with the zones. I've heard Times Square and MSG are expensive due to tourists... I'd like to stay away from those areas but would still like to be not too far from it. Any suggestions?
griplynch Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 i am lookin for a place the same dates as you . i got the empire hotel for 120.00 at xmas time . its the only 4 star upper west side on PRICELINE so u know thats the one you are bidding on . prices seem to be a little higher in the spring. the best deal will be closer to the travel dates i think . im using the sheraton brooklyn as a standby . its a nice place with a pool and about a 15 min subway ride to the city center . subway is close by.
CL5 Posted April 22, 2011 Author Report Posted April 22, 2011 So you're going to wait till you get closer? I'm afraid prices will be higher then or they will be completely booked. Thanks for info on Sheraton...might have to do that as well...
AaronJB Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Looking at these dates, unfortunately I think $120 is not going to be enough; I'm guessing a Midtown 4* is probably going to require more along the lines of $175-200, and quite possibly a bit over that. These dates just seem expensive, unfortunately - I don't think splitting the stay is going to be helpful.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
CL5 Posted April 23, 2011 Author Report Posted April 23, 2011 Thx for the info... Do u have an idea of how much I'll have to spend for a 3*? 3*s can't be that bad, right? We're not going to be using room much...only to sleep and shower. I'm just worried abt bed bugs...
CL5 Posted April 23, 2011 Author Report Posted April 23, 2011 Thx for the info... Do u have an idea of how much I'll have to spend for a 3*? 3*s can't be that bad, right? We're not going to be using room much...only to sleep and shower. I'm just worried abt bed bugs...I meant 3.5* not 3
thereuare Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Based upon current prices I don't think a 3.5* is going to save you much vs. the 4* and you're probably looking at about the same price range... lowering to 3* may lower the range by about $20 or so.What is the rate for the Brooklyn Sheraton for your dates? CL5 Posted April 26, 2011 Author Report Posted April 26, 2011 Can you please give me advice on how much I should start bidding for a 4* or 3.5* in Upper East Side?
AaronJB Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 There is no 4* or 3.5* option in the USE zone.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
