Hello, I would like some bidding help for 2 rooms in Venice, Italy. One night, 20 May for a 4* hotel. I know the prices for hotels in Venice are incredible, so just looking for some advice and maybe an idea of what a maximum price would be.

Thanks for the help!

What is the best price you're able to find at an acceptable hotel thru a conventional booking?

Is the 3* hotel acceptable if that is where you ended up staying? Relative to this option, how much would you be willing to pay for an 'unknown' 4* hotel?

Well our travel plans are not set in stone, and I would like to not spend more than $200/nt per room, but not sure how possible this is. I suppose we would choose the 3* if we decide we really want to stay in Venice, but as I said our plans are flexible so if Venice proves to be too expensive we will just choose another city.

While i think this may be a tough win, but given about a month before your stay (enough time but not a lot of time) i would bid as follows:

At the 4* level you have ONE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* Venice...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $130

If the above is rejected i would try again every 24 hours, increasing the previously bids by $10, which will get you to your $200 maximum bid in ~5 days, which still leaves enough time to make alternate plans and re-schedule other aspects of your trip. If you don't feel much of a hurry to get this done, you could increase by $5 every bid, but that will then take nearly 10 days to complete, which if rejected, you then only have about 2 1/2 weeks to re-arrange your itinerary.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
