Can I get bumped from a hotel if that hotel fills up?

I bid (and won) a room at the Red Lion Inn. When I checked in, the hotel front desk told me bidding through PRICELINE was very risky.

She said that the hotel had the option of bumping me out of the room I won if they wanted to. (ie: if the hotel filled up and preferred to rent the room for more money than I was paying.)

Does anyone know if this is true?

If so, is it true with hotels, cars, airfare?

Please provide a follow-up for your prior old Priceline Miami thread (post in that thread what you decided for that stay), then reply to this thread and we'll address your question above.

Also please post your details for your Red Lion Inn stay. City, zone, star rating, date(s) and price.

Always follow-up your threads with whatever you end up doing, even if you chose to book direct, cancel your trip, etc.
