I got really frustrated on this one, have been bidding for over two weeks and was looking for the Vienna Meridien. Got the Hilton instead. Please find results below. All bids made for both 4* and 5*.

$120 - rejected, counteroffer for $150;

$125 - rejected, counteroffer for $160;

$130 - rejected, counteroffer for $165;

$135 - rejected, counteroffer for $170;

$150 - rejected, counteroffer for $190;

I fully understand your frustration! Does anybody recognize a specific strategy from priceline, first counteroffer at $150, later rejecting the $150 bid, or is it just accidental or bad luck?

But if you compare to Hilton's website you saved about 50% to their best rate! So cheer up!

Inventory may have changed, another user bought the last room at the $150 rate for one or both of these nites, etc, etc.

I've seen it happen before, although it's more the exception then the rule.
