maybelater Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 $67 on Hotwire for a 3* Hotel in Bentonville-Rogers, AR area for 4/21-4/22. Turned out to be the La Quinta Inn & Suites.Amenities were listed as:Complimentary BreakfastFitness CenterLaundry FacilitiesBusiness CenterThis hotel is listed as a 2.5* on TripAdvisor and as 2* elsewhere, and does not look like a 3* hotel to me. Anyone know how Hotwire gets away with false advertising like that? :)
thereuare Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!Sorry to hear you're disappointed with the results. Most La Quinta properties are 3* rated by HOTWIRE.This hotel is listed as a 2.5* on TripAdvisor and as 2* elsewhereI'm not sure where you're seeing the 2* rating(s) for this property, but:Orbitz: 3*Travelocity: 3*Expedia: 2.5*The average of these three rounds up to 3* which is likely how HOTWIRE will justify their rating for this property. You can call them and let them know of your dissatisfaction, but i presume they'll defend their rating as per above and tell you go call them if you arrive at the hotel and have any issues you can't resolve with the hotel. On a positive note we do hear disappointments such as this from time to time, and i'd say half the time the user comes back to say that the stay was much better then expected and they were pleasantly surprised. (in fact the reviews for this property at quite good)Thank you for sharing your win with the board and helping us add this property to the Hotwire Hotel List. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay... hope it goes better then expected. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
maybelater Posted April 21, 2011 Author Report Posted April 21, 2011 I think I saw it listed on PRICELINE as a 2*.Nonetheless, I'm sure it will be fine. I was just disappointed - hoping it would be Staybridge or Holiday Inn. That's the way it goes with sites like HOTWIRE. :)
kentotto Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 This is actually a really nice La Quinta. It was built only a few years ago and I've personally stayed there -- I think you'll be pleased. I would be more concerned as to why the other sites are rating it so low...it doesn't give it justice. I know some La Quinta's can be sketchy, but I'd rate this La Quinta easily better than a Holiday Inn...
AaronJB Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Kentotto,Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Thank you for offering your thoughts on this property.
