Thanks to all of the members on this forum for the great advice -- just won my first bid through Priceline :)

The way I did it was as suggested by other members:

Bid 1: selected Old Montreal zone

Bid 2: selected Longueuil zone (no 4-star hotels)

Bid 3: selected Laval zone (no 4-star hotels)

Bid 4: selected Pointe Claire (no 4-star hotels)

I started at $65 a few days ago, and went up $5 each time. Had to return to Priceline three times (after waiting the obligatory 24-hour period) using this strategy but eventually wound up with the win above, which we're very happy about -- we've stayed at the Hyatt before (paying full price), and are very happy with this hotel. This is a great deal even with the taxes and service fees (see below):

Room Subtotal: $285.00 (USD)

Taxes and Fees: $60.87 (USD)

Total Room Cost: $345.87 (USD)

Happy bidding everyone!
