thereuare Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Did you next want to try up to your $220 limit (or some new amount) for a 4* or do you prefer to try for the least expensive 3.5* property? Also, if you're bidding MTE at the 3.5* level i assume you're OK with the possibility of receiving a hotel that is a 15 minute walk to the subway? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. sleedham Posted April 20, 2011 Author Report Posted April 20, 2011 Thanks for the reply. I'm still getting rejected. Would it be risky to wait until next week, or would there be a better chance of being accepted? Is there somewhere where I can find out if there is anything big going on in New York that may up the prices?
thereuare Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 Would it be risky to wait until next week, or would there be a better chance of being accepted?Nobody can say of prices will drop in the next week... or go even higher. See the 'bid early or close to check-in' link in our PRICELINE FAQ.Is there somewhere where I can find out if there is anything big going on in New York that may up the prices? There are very few events in NYC that are so big that it dries up all hotel inventory, it's usually a combination of many things. My guess is that you're simply seeing higher rates due to seasonal factors and that the bulk of this stay is for midweek nites (ie- no weekends)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you decide to move forward and we'll try to be of further help.
