jcg2462 Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 I will be bidding for a one night pre-cruise stay on 9/4. I don't see much history for winning bids during Labor Day weekend. Is this because priceline isn't a good option for a holiday weekend, or is it too soon to get a good deal? Also, should I start bidding higher because it is a long weekend? Will want downtown or FQ area 3* or 4*.
thereuare Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 It's probably just too early for many people to be thinking about and/or committing to Labor Day plans at the moment (but they probably don't have a cruise booked either :) )Rates are not too bad for your dates at the moment, what is your maximum budget for this stay? Did you want to try up to your limit first for a 4*, then if rejected try for a 3.5*, then if rejected try for a 3* OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay (although if you go with this latter option i'd sooner recommend sticking with a 3.5* minimum at the onset)Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. jcg2462 Posted April 19, 2011 Author Report Posted April 19, 2011 A 3* or 3.5* would be fine, but thinking about starting low for a 4* just to see if I can get something for around $75-$80. I got such a good deal on priceline in March on Holiday Inn for $55, I think that's what it was, is that a possibility for Labor Day weekend? Will want downtown or FQ area. The parking is what gets me, plus $80 just to park at cruise pier for 5 days. I've looked for a hotel that has free parking for cruisers, but they stick you with a high room rate to get it.
