Priceline Hotel: 2.5* Seattle (Univ of Washington-Northgate) Holiday Inn Express

Used this forum's link to PRICELINE and made one bid at $65 for 3.5* and was not accepted. Neither was a bid for a 3* (assume since none in zone?).

Made another bid for 2.5* for same rate of $65 and was immediately accepted.

From the PL map I did not expect (or want) this location/hotel.

Only three hotels showed up for the 2.5* rating and this one was not one of them on their view all hotels list. Would have been very happy with Watertown or University Inn.

I read the reviews for the hotel selected (Holiday Inn Express on Rte 99) and there were some good, some bad with general consensus that location is bad.

The distance to where I need to be - from the hotel actually selected - is greater than the hotels that showed up for the zone and rating.

Not sure if I should go with it and hope location and hotel are not that bad or if I should pursue a cancel or change or refund due to the tricky mapping and zone listing PL seems to use.

Any thoughts from folks experienced with the area and PL?

Sorry to see you received a hotel in a location that you didn't expect.

You can try contacting PRICELINE to see if they're willing to work with you in any way, but this hotel is within the boundaries of the zone you selected, and as you now know, you can't use the 'retail' section of PRICELINE to determine what you will receive when 'bidding' for a hotel. The retail and name your own price sections of PRICELINE each use a different universe of hotels... not all hotels participate in both sides of their service.

If you due pursue something with PRICELINE let us know the outcome.
