Hi, I am new here and just won my first two nights with bidding at Priceline, thanks to the this great site.

I was looking for 2 nights in Montreal in a 3.5 or 4 star hotel. Started bidding at $85 for a 3.5 star. Didn't work out. Raised to $91, $96, $99 and finally won at $101.

Switched a few times between Downtown and Convention Center as I didn't mind and both 3.5* and 4* hotels looked good. I used the Convention Center area more often as i tried to avoid the Marriott (Downtown) which looks a bit outdated to me.

One thing I don't really get. The areas I could choose from at Priceline when searching which hotels are where don't seem to match the options given when bidding.

The options I got when searching the Priceline site:

- Montreal QC (all areas)

- Montreal

- Dorval

- Longueuil

The options I got when bidding:

- Convention Center

- Dorval

- Downtown

- Laval

- Longueuil

- Pointe Claire

What do I do wrong when looking for the different areas of Montreal?

Congrats on your success and Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Awesome deal for your first PRICELINE win!

Both the retail and bidding sides of PRICELINE do differ, so zones may differ and some hotels that participate on the retail side may not participate on the bidding side.

Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Enjoy your stay.

Also, if you're using the 'retail' section of PRICELINE to try to determine your re-bid zones that is NOT how you should do it... see this Priceline Re-Bidding Explained thread for the correct method and let us know if you have any questions.

Glad to see this stay ultimately worked out for you and hopefully you're pleased with the results.

Have a great trip.

Thanks, I figured out how to do it in the bidding section...

I was offered to extend my stay, which I tried, but they asked $212 for the extra night, so I didn't accept the offer.
