lls138
Are we sure that it is not the Gran Bahia Principe Resort? has 3.5 star with TA 4.5 star rating. I changed the search to 2 adults and two children (8/27-9/1) and a Hotels.com option comes up for $141/night with the same options. However, there is an insane amount of taxes and fees:Hotel detailsHotel:Gran Bahia Principe Coba All Inclusive Resort -Puerto Aventuras - Tulum RegionStar rating:silkHotelStarRating:3.5-starCheck-in date:silkCheckInDate:Sat, Aug 27Check-out date:silkCheckOutnDate:Thu, Sep 1Amenities:See all amenitiesPrice summaryHotelRate per night: silkPricePerRoomPerson:$141.65Nights: silknoOfNights:5Rooms: silknoOfRooms:1Tax recoverycharges & fees: silkHotTaxes:$540.00Subtotal: silksubTotal:$1,248.25Trip total: silkgetTotalPriceWithAddOns:$1,248.25Prices are in US Dollar (USD)Amenities listed are:ResortResorts offer a complete destination experience. lls138
Used the HOTWIRE link and I pulled the trigger. As I suspected it was the gran bahia principe coba resort....a new hotel for you. The price was going to be $114/night for 2 adults. Then $161 with 2 adults and a 2 year old. If I added my infant (who will be 6 months at time of trip, then they wanted an additional $300. I decided to role the dice as I think it is unethical for them to charge an infant who will consume no food and use no services. if they charge me there then oh well. Best price I could find was $1200 elsewhere including taxes and fees. Thanks.Gran Bahia Principe Coba All Inclusive ResortCheckInDate:Sat, Aug 27, 2011CheckOutDate:Thu, Sep 1, 2011PricePerNight:$161.00 Nights:5Rooms:1Taxes: $20.20Total:$825.20Amenities See descriptionResortSuiteNear BeachFood and Beverages IncludedA la Carte Dining OptionsWater Sports/Ocean Activities IncludedEvening Entertainment IncludedDaily Activities IncludedComplimentary BreakfastChildren's Activity ProgramFitness CenterRestaurant(s)Golf NearbyTennis NearbySpa Services Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your success!Glad to see you received a nice deal and the hotel that you were hoping for. If the hotel does try to charge you for the infant you can make the case that on HOTWIRE's home page the initial search indicates Children (2-17 years old) so you didn't include the infant since s/he is under 2 years old. (and that you were being honest since you did include your 2 year old in the search)Thank you for using the HOTWIRE link on the board to begin your purchase and for sharing your results, helping us add this property to the Hotwire Hotel List.Have a great trip! lls138
Thank you for the tip. If I have a problem I will do my best to quote the hotwire page indicated children 2 and over. Link to comment
