My wife and I will be going to New york from 6/4-6-9 and are looking at hotels. We want to stay in the Midtown area. I have never used either site to book hotels so i was just looking for any advice. We would like to spend less than 200.00 a night, but dont want to stay at a crappy hotel. any suggestions on what rates to expect? what hotels are good?. What is a good starting point to start bidding

Thanks in advance

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Historically this is an expensive time in NYC, but at the moment there is a 3.5* hotel on HOTWIRE in the Midtown Central zone for $143/nite with Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business icons. As well, this hotel is showing a 95% recommendation by HOTWIRE users and a 4.5/5.0 Tripadvisor rating (the TA rating is shown after clicking the CONTINUE button and on the subsequent page).

Best guess is that this is the Jewel Hotel... it has a great location and gets very good reviews. Would this work for your plans?

the Jewel certainly looks like a nice hotel and 143.00 seems like a really good price.

is it better to try and book now or wait a little closer to the trip??

thanks again for all the help. very cool site

There's no way to know if rates will go down closer to your stay, but if rates so far for May/early June are any indication, this would appear to be a good deal.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
