Priceline Hotel: Virginia Beach, labor day weekend

Trying to get near/or on the beach for labor day weekend. Currently have Best Western Oceanfront booked for $159/night in their "back lot"property, i.e., not on the beach. Would like to do better. What do you thin the odds are? I've tried $120 for 3* and was shot down. Just keep climbing, or am I wasting my time?

I have tried the following only for May 29th through 30th with no success for 3.5 star (presumably the Sheraton Ocean Front);

Virginia Beach Area 1 $125

Chesapeake Bowers Hill 2 $130

Norfolk Naval Base - Tidewater 3 $135

Central Suffolk 4 $140

Norfolk Airport (ORF) 5 $145

Cheasapeake Greenbriar Area 6 $150

Cheasapeake Churchland Suffolk 7 $155

Dates are Sept 2 - 5th. Hank's results don't look too encouraging... Let me know if you succeed please! I'd be fine with any of the 3* (except maybe the doubletree since it's so far from the beach, but I'd risk it.) Any idea how the 2.5* 's are?

While there may be some 2.5* properties which meet your needs, there may be others which do not... i'd be hesitant to lower your star rating this far ahead of your stay.... especially if you have a back-up reservation which you're comfortable with.
