Started from 65$ a couple of days ago, now at 75. Will try again tomorrow. Saw another post reporting possibly higher than average rate. any idea?

Bid 78, fail. 80 fail. 85 fail. A new post was just talking about a $90 bid is about the same as market rate.. Seems like west HK hotel bids are not much of a deal these days..

Any insights?

Sometimes markets change the amounts their willing to discount based upon actual or perceived demand for a given time frame (ie- if they sense that business is picking up or they're entering a busy season they may not be willing to discount as much as they have as when business was very slow) and at the moment hotels in this area don't appear to be discounting much.

If you can find a better deal then yo should take it, but this is why we often point out how important it is to research rages beforehand and determine a bidding budget so that you know what rates are thru other avenues and you don't overbid.
