AaronJB Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)This would be a likely match for the Allegro.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
rustyblonde98 Posted April 12, 2011 Author Report Posted April 12, 2011 This would be a likely match for the Allegro.Really?! Wow! I just checked the rates for that hotel on Expedia (couldn't find it on priceline's regular hotel search) and it's going for $329 for those dates! If this is indeed the Allegro, then that is a MASSIVE discount! :) Thanks for such a quick response. I'm definitely bookmarking this site!

rustyblonde98 Posted April 17, 2011 Author Report Posted April 17, 2011 I just checked Hotwire again (I wasn't ready to book earlier because we had some friends who weren't sure if they could go)... Anyway, I checked Hotwire today for the same exact specifications and now the cheapest thing I can find goes for $212/night! :) What happened to the other cheap rate I found a week or so ago? Since we're not going until September, I figured the cheap rate would be around for a while yet. Am I missing something? Or is this typical of Hotwire? Could someone please explain?
AaronJB Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 HOTWIRE rates can change at any time and listings may come-and-go. There is only one listing displayed at each star rating for each zone for each set of dates at any one time. That listing can change (a different listing entirely) or the price can go up/down at any time. Unfortunately, the low rate showing a week ago is no longer there.Additionally, were you only searching for 2 people before and are now searching for more? That would cause higher prices.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
rustyblonde98 Posted April 17, 2011 Author Report Posted April 17, 2011 In the end, I would be booking for additional people, but when I searched to find the rate again, I entered the exact same information I used last week.Hm... Guess I'll just have to wait around and keep checking for lower rates! Fortunately, I have a few months before the trip! Thanks again!

rustyblonde98 Posted June 27, 2011 Author Report Posted June 27, 2011 I'm looking for a hotel room in downtown Chicago for 3-4 people -- meaning we want two beds instead of one. I see Hotwire has the option to list how many rooms you want and how many people, but I'm a bit leery about booking because I'd hate to pay the money and then get to the hotel and realize we only have one bed for four people.Does anyone else have experience with this? Any tips?
AaronJB Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 Are your Chicago dates still 9/16-18 as noted in this prior Chicago Hotwire thread?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
rustyblonde98 Posted June 27, 2011 Author Report Posted June 27, 2011 Are your Chicago dates still 9/16-18 as noted in this prior Chicago Hotwire thread?Yes. I was asking for this particular trip as well as future reference.
AaronJB Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 PRICELINE only guarantees 1 bed/double occupancy. HOTWIRE guarantees bedding for the entire party, but that may be 2 beds or 1 + rollaway or 1 + sofabed. Searching for one or two people on HOTWIRE will likely result in one bed.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
