Hello

First time that I'm going to use Priceline. I need a double room, doesn't matter if double bed or twins for 2 people from 05/24/11 till 06/01/11.

I would like something around $120 per night. Maybe too optimistic, in that case, less star rating will also be fine.

Preffered zones are:

Times Square,

Chelsea Area,

Central Park South,

Empire State Building,

Hell's Kitchen,

Midtown east and West.

I currently have one reservation in Hotel Alexander in Upper Wst side for $105 per night, but I'm looking for something closer to the city center.

Any specific strategy? How much will it cost per night normally that time of the year? Am I trying to bid too early?

Thank you very much for your help :). I'll use the links above.

Thanks for your feedback :)

Double room with double bed is perfect, we're a couple. It does not matter if the room has two single beds or one double bed, as far que can sleep two people.:).

I don't think that $120 for a 4* hotel is realistic for these dates... you may have a shot at a 3* property.

If you want to try your 4* bidding first anyway you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* TS, Chelsea, CPS, ESB, HK, MTE, MTW...

Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $125

Any questions feel free to ask.

Assuming the above is rejected and you want to lower your star rating to 3.5* or 3*, are you OK with a very small room and/or the possibility of a 15 minute walk to the subway?

Also, would the MSG zone be acceptable if you lower your star rating?

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Yes, MSG is also fine in case I try for 3*.

I agree that $120 is not enough money for those dates, but I checked typing $100 and at least the red notice saying that it will not be enough money dissapear. I believe is just part of the game to make me feeel that I cna win :)

I already have a look to all the rebidding strategy.

BTW: do you think is too early to try?

I'll use your PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links, do not worry :)

Thanks a lot

This is meaningless in terms of how much you should bid for this stay... we've seen bids placed when this message appears which have won, and have also seen it disappear when i pretty much knew the bid didn't have a chance at being accepted.

Did you want to try the 4* strategy above first... or try for a 3.5* or go right for the least expensive 3* or better?

Thanks in advance for using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.

Let us know if/when/how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.
