tpatoatl,

HOTWIRE only shows one hotel per star rating per zone... are you seeing both 4* hotels in the Mag Mile-Streeterville zone appear on the same search? If you're doing something differently to make an additional property appear on a second search please let us know so we can replicate the same offerings you're seeing.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

I like the potential Hilton Conrad or Intercontinental option, and the Drake is $109 via Expedia (and coupon code BRIGHT11 takes $10 off per night - $99.) The Drake and Intercontinental (the Drake being even more "Chicago") are very nice examples of grand, old-world luxury properties. Rooms are smaller than normal, but the historic public spaces are remarkable in terms of style and old-world construction. If you are looking for a sleeker, more modern option, I would look into other options; Expedia has the Sax (which is a Thompson boutique next to the House of Blues) for $119 and the coupn takes $10 off - $109.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE, PRICELINE or Expedia links.

My guess would be the Hyatt on Wacker. If so, that's the largest hotel in the city - that is a giant, more convention/business-oriented property that is well-located by the river. It is not for those who are looking for personalized service, but in terms of a more reasonably priced option in a good location for those who aren't going to need personalized service and/or won't be in the room much, it works.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

I booked the INTERCONTINENTAL!

I was really hoping for the Conrad, but I'm sure the InterContinental will be nice. This will be our first time in Chicago, so any suggestions of things to do and places to eat is very appreciated! We were thinking of catching a show at Second City...is it worth it or should we go with another comedy club? Thanks for all of your help!!

I think "Second City" is certainly worthwhile, and I really like the Old Town neighborhood it's in. If you are looking for stand-up, Zanies is also nearby in the Old Town area and attracts some fairly big names. I also highly recommend The Spice House, which is a very pretty little store a short distance South of Second City.
