joee Posted April 11, 2011 Author Report Posted April 11, 2011 but when it says its near a beach does that mean it does not have beach access
thereuare Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 It means that it's not directly on the beach.HOTWIRE defines Beach Access as:Near BeachProperty is located within easy walking distance of a beach.Often the hotel is across the street from the beach or the waterline by the hotel may be rocky (instread of sandy) so to access the beach you may need to walk a short distance. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. joee Posted April 11, 2011 Author Report Posted April 11, 2011 im not going to take that chance im just going to look for a hotel that is beach front thank you so much for ur help
thereuare Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 HOTWIRE also uses a Beachfront icon, so you could run your search again and see if anything with the Beachfront icon is offered. lls138 Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 I am looking at this same property for 8/27-9/1, but at $161/night.Could it be the Blue Tulum?
joee Posted April 12, 2011 Author Report Posted April 12, 2011 no the blue tulum is not a 4.5* on trip adviser this one is i have been looking on HOTWIRE for other propertys but i liked this one because of the 4.5* on trip adviser
lls138 Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 So which hotels are 3.5 here but have 4.5 star tripadvisor ratings? Usually near beach means that it has a rocky beach...a la Blue Tulum. Anyone can identify this hotel?
koala Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 i did click on the HOTWIRE link posted in ur reply the asininitys are ResortSuite Near Beach Food and Beverages Included A la Carte Dining Options Water Sports/Ocean Activities IncludedEvening Entertainment IncludedDaily Activities IncludedComplimentary BreakfastChildren's Activity Program Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services All-Inclusive and its rated as 4.5 on trip adviser thxLooking at TA Tulum, All-inclusive, 4.5 guest ratings, I come up with El Dorado Seaside SuitesRoyal Suites By Palladium Barcelo Maya ColonialThe defining attribute could be near beach rather than beach frontOther sites just list "beach"I suspect that it is on a rocky shore (no beach front), but has a beach very close, like next door.I am not familiar with those resorts, but maybe someone else is.My wild guess is The Royal Suites.
lls138 Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 The Royal Suites By Palladium would make sense. However, I searched by 2 Adults and 1 child. I will be traveling with a 2 year old and an infant. Royal Suites is listed as adult only. Would hotwire sell it if I specified the child as i did?
lls138 Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 Also, I think the El Dorado is adult only too.Now the Palladium Royal Suites has a family section and an adult only section. The name of the adult only section is the Royal Suites.
joee Posted April 14, 2011 Author Report Posted April 14, 2011 i wonder if you go through HOTWIRE do u still have to pay the extra resort prices and all the extras or is what you pay at HOTWIRE your final prepaid bill
thereuare Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Resort fees are payable directly to the hotel and not included in your HOTWIRE (or PRICELINE) room rate. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
lls138 Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 How would one know if there are additional resort fees? And how much?
