jkloni Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 I could only be so lucky as to get the Hard Rock Hotel!! Congratulations! Never stayed at the HR Chicago, but have stayed in Orlando and it is fabulous. (at least to my tastes). Enjoy!
Yourebonybbw Posted April 11, 2011 Author Report Posted April 11, 2011 Sorry that I left off this valuable information. The bid was at $97.00 per night and the amenities are: Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, and High-Speed Internet Access. I went to the Hard Rock Chicago website and see the rooms start at $219.00 per night. I feel like I got a deal. Oh and I did use the forums HOTWIRE link to make the purchase.

AaronJB Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 The Hard Rock is housed in the Carbon and Carbide building, one of the city's most historic structures, originally built in 1929 by architect Daniel Burnham (who was also responsible for the Reliance Building, one of the city's first skyscrapers, which was turned into the Burnham Hotel.) Soundproofing was hopefully a major effort in the restoration when it was turned into a hotel in 2004; they do give guests the ability to check out guitars and take lessons (http://www.hardrockhotelchicago.com/services-amenities/gibson/). If there is a noise issue, I'd call down to the front desk and ask to be moved. This property is right down the street from the river, so while it is in the Loop, it's a pretty easy walk to Michigan Ave. It's also not far from State St.
