JakeSSSS Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Hi, guys.I apologize if my writing is messy because I'm new to this site.Bidding strategy: Bid for like 50 times within a week with no luck. Bid up to $135 for Resorts in Waikiki Beach area, combination with ihilani, Central, Airport, Executive, Marina. Tired of doing it, figured we would just stay in Aqua Waikiki Wave. After not bidding for 2 days, got an email from priceline saying that try to bid again so I bid...Bid $100, Resorts oahu, Waikiki Beach area and got accepted at once. Unbelievable.I am going from April 17~25 2011, $100/per night.Total: $932.64.The resort we will be staying is Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. (Wished for Sheraton :) )My suggestion would be ,if you don't want to end up in a resort you really don't like, bid for like a day and see if it comes out to be your choice.Because once you get the hotel of your choice, you can extend your stays by the same price that you bid!!! Guess I"m the only one who didn't know this...But just in case^^Do any guys of you know what resorts are there in Ihilani AREA Oahu?? I'm thinking it would be Ko'Olina Marriott or JW Marriott where I would like to stay.Any advice would be welcomed.Enjoy your hunting for the hotels guys.Thanks for posting up your bids guys. thereuare Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!My suggestion would be ,if you don't want to end up in a resort you really don't like, bid for like a day and see if it comes out to be your choice.Because once you get the hotel of your choice, you can extend your stays by the same price that you bid!!!This doesn't work for two reasons:1) even when the offer to extend yours stay is given, it doesn't guarantee that you'll be able to extend your stay. Sometimes PRICELINE comes back stating that they aren't able to extend the stay, or that they can only extend the stay at a higher price (and give you the option to accept or reject the higher price)2) you can only extend the stay for the same number (or fewer) nites then your original bid... so if you bid for one nite youc an only extend the stay for one additional nitePlease use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
